London Transport Museum

Today Maci and I went to the London Transport Museum to celebrate her best friend, Eben's 2nd Birthday.  Maci loved driving all the buses, maybe she will be a bus driver when she grows up. We really enjoyed this museum and will be returning.  There was a lot of fun to be had.

The said Birthday boy Eben, really enjoying the buses and trains too.

Take Two - Willows Farm

Hello again everyone.  After a bit of slacking on my part, I thought maybe it was time to share our adventures with you again.  We have a busy month coming up so I thought now was the perfect time.  :)

Yesterday, November 3rd, we enjoyed a lovely crisp, fall weather day at Willows Farm with another friend family we have here in the UK.  There is so many kid activities here to keep them busy all day long.  There is also many farm animals to watch and feed.  It was a tad chilly but no rain which I count as a great day!

Maci and Eben were driving the happy tractor.

Maci LOVES slides.

Hanging out on the chicken!

Driving the tractor around.

Upgraded my tractor to the bigger one!

Lovely display of hay bails.

Stonehenge

This week we have had the most fabulous weather here in London, finally a break from the rain; (Now that I have typed that I expect the rain to return - oops).  It has been a busy week with Grammy and Grandad.  Many walks to the park, playing in the little blow up pool, enjoying some time in the country side.  Today we headed off to Stonehenge; sun shining, no clouds in sight, a light breeze.  The queue was very long and we could see the monument from the sidewalk (like many other visitors) so we did not enter the attraction but took pictures from the outside.

Maci is 9 Months Old

Seriously? 3/4 of a year old?  When did this happen?  This has been a busy month for little miss Maci.  She decided to pop out her first 2 bottom teeth.  We had about a week of whiny, rough sleep mixed with lots of tylenol and frozen teething rings.  She also decided to start cruising, from one end of the couch to the other.  Back and forth, all day long.  AND just 2 days ago, 1 day before her 9 month birthday, she began to crawl.  It has been about 6 weeks that she has been getting up on her hands and knees, rocking, getting frustrated, unaware of what to do.  Then it clicked and so it begins. She still needs a bit of practice, but I am sure it won't take too long and she will be faster than me!

The Savoy

This past Sunday we stayed overnight at The Savoy hotel downtown London.  Remember, it has Ramsey's restaurant that one of the winners of Hell's Kitchen got the head chef position.  It was a beautiful hotel, we were greeted as we walked in the doors and taken straight up to our room, no waiting in any line ups and no messing around with checking in.  We were only on the third floor and our view was to a garden in the centre of the hotel.  We had a huge king size bed and Maci had her own cot.   The bathroom was nice and had a great shower and huge shower head.

On Monday while John was working downtown, Maci and I met up with a friend and went to work on the Big Egg Hunt.  London has scattered huge Easter Eggs all over to find.  I think there was over 100 eggs to find.  We found about 10 or so in St. James Park, Green Park, and Trafalgar Square.

Weekend in Swindon, UK

This weekend we went away to Swindon, attending an event put on by the MFRC here in the UK.  We went on Friday night for an extra night away.  On Friday night we took Maci to the hotel swimming pool to try and tire her out for a good nights sleep.  She had a blast swimming, laughing from end to end, kicking and splashing every chance she got.  Although, she slept just the same as any other night, so my plan of attack did not work.  On Saturday, as Maci wouldn't nap, we took a nice long walk down the street to Lydiard Park, while she fell asleep in the pram.  We walked around the park while I took plenty of pictures.  That afternoon we headed off to the Designer Outlet Shopping Centre, had some lunch and did some shopping.  In the evening, there was a big get together with some games and a buffet dinner.  Sunday morning we headed back home and I drove, the whole way, on the crazy highways, on the wrong side of the road, and we made it in one piece!  I may just be getting the hang of this whole driving on the wrong side thing.

I would also like to share that I have been reading a wonderful blog '31 Days to a Better Photo' and have finally been shooting my pictures in MANUAL mode.  I never thought I would get that far with the camera as the guide book I have is not making much sense.  So all of my pictures this weekend were taken with manual settings.  Now to figure out the white balance on the camera. I am only a third thru the blog so lots more to learn!  Here are some of the pictures from our weekend away.

Maci is 8 Months Old.

Can you even believe it has been 8 whole months since Maci made her debut into the world!?  I can't and I live with her.  The time has gone by so fast, just like everyone says.  She is now rolling all over the house and getting up on her hands and knees wobbling every chance she gets.  I expect a mobile Maci vey soon.  She also loves standing, standing against the couch, standing against her toys, standing with our help; she loves it.  Here are a few pictures from the 8 month pictures.

She doesn't know which team to cheer for since they both suck right now! :P
